The ACADEMI Position
Why we exist

Most schools teach kids about AI. We teach kids to lead with it.

Mission

Equip high school students with the AI literacy they need to build real skills and real portfolios.

Vision

The next generation of leaders uses AI as leverage, instead of being paralyzed by it.

The program

8 sessions. 8 skills. One portfolio they actually own.

Every session builds on the one before it. What they prompt in week one is what they put through the tools in week two, what they govern with their ethics policy in week three, and on. By session 08, every weekly output has already landed in their portfolio. They walk out with a credentialed AI portfolio they built, not a folder of slides.

01

Prompt fluency

Read the machine. Pick the right model, prompt with intent, and walk out with a 10-prompt personal library.

02

AI toolkit

Set up Notion, Lovable, Claude and Cowork. Their portfolio site goes live this week, and everything they build from now lands inside it.

03

AI literacy

Write the personal AI use policy they can defend to a teacher, parent, or admissions officer.

04

Study partner

Build an AI-augmented study system for a real school subject they take. AI supports their learning, it does not do their learning.

05

Brand and direction

Refresh the portfolio homepage around a clear career direction. "I want to be a developer." "I want to market AI sports startups." Pick a lane.

06

Build and ship

Vibecode a working web app at a public URL, themed around the direction they declared in week 05.

07

Automate

Build one agent or automation that runs without them. Add it to the portfolio as a second featured project.

08

Pitch and pass

Five slide pitch, finalized portfolio, capstone submission. Pass the rubric, earn the ACADEMI certificate.

Outcomes

A portfolio you can show, and a certificate that means something.

Every weekly deliverable goes into the same portfolio. By session 08 the portfolio is the program. Students who pass the capstone earn the ACADEMI certificate. Students who do not get one rewrite cycle. The credential is the work.

The portfolio

Live at a public URL by session 02. Filled session by session with prompt library, AI use policy, study system case study, brand homepage, deployed app, and a working automation. By session 08, it tells one story.

The capstone

Five slide pitch, three minute recording, finalized portfolio, 300 word reflection. Submitted against a rubric students see from day one. No surprises. No participation trophies.

The certificate

Awarded only on rubric pass. Shareable on LinkedIn and embedded into the portfolio. ACADEMI keeps the credential meaningful by withholding it when work does not meet the bar.

Two ways to learn

The same curriculum, your way in.

Whether you're a parent looking for the one mentor your kid will actually listen to, or a school looking to lead on AI before everyone else catches up, ACADEMI fits.

How it works

Concept. Build. Ship.

The format is the same every week so students stop thinking about logistics and start thinking about work. 90 minutes, every time.

i.

30 minutes of concept

Tight, opinionated walkthrough of the week's idea. No 90 minute lectures. No filler.

ii.

60 minutes of build

Students build the real thing. Mentor on the call. Output is shippable that day.

iii.

Portfolio at session 8

Public portfolio page, deployed app, content kit, and a five slide pitch they can show anyone. Done in 8 weeks, or in a sprint.

Common questions

The short version.

Who is this for?
High school students roughly ages 14 to 18. A-Levels, IB, AP, national curriculum. Assumes curiosity, not coding background.
How long does it take? Can we go faster?
Standard is 8 sessions across 8 weeks. Sprint formats available: holiday intensive for 1:1, sprint week for schools. Same eight sessions, same deliverables, same certificate, faster cadence.
What do students actually walk out with?
A live portfolio at a public URL with seven weekly deliverables already in it: a prompt library, an AI use policy, a study system, a brand homepage, a deployed app, an automation, and a final pitch. Plus the ACADEMI certificate if they pass the capstone.
What if my kid does not pass the capstone?
They get one rewrite cycle. If the work still does not meet the rubric, the certificate is withheld but they keep the portfolio. The credential is meaningful because it is not given out by default.
Will this make my kid dependent on AI?
The opposite. Session 03 is dedicated to writing a personal AI use policy. Session 04 is about AI as a study partner, not a study replacement. The program protects critical thinking, judgment, and individual voice. AI supports learning. It does not do the learning.
Do students need to know how to code?
No. By session 06 they ship a working app using vibecoding and modern AI tooling. That is the point.
How is 1:1 different from the school cohort?
Same arc, same deliverables, same certificate. 1:1 is fully personalised, every build is shaped around the student's career direction, and parents get a debrief at sessions 04 and 08. School cohorts run as groups of 15 with group mentorship.
Where are you based?
Built in Hong Kong, run remotely. Cohort 01 is open globally on Hong Kong friendly time zones.
